Jamie Kripke's artistic lineage can be traced back to the Midwestern suburbs of Toledo, Ohio, where his dad ran a metal-recycling business and his mom was an artist. The creative torch was passed in 1985, when his mom handed down her old Minolta. Subsequently, his work for the Ottawa High School newspaper, the Arrowhead, launched his career. He has since earned a degree in philosophy and fine art from the University of Colorado, and has furthered his education at the San Francisco Art Institute, the California College of Arts and Crafts, and the Art Center. Twenty years after picking up the Minolta, Kripke is creating images for a variety of clients across the country. He lives in San Francisco.
